Chasing the rabbit down the rabbit hole only to find a dragon instead

Walking was never his pleasure but always his honor. Yet every once in a while you just needed to get the hell off the streets and remember some of the good times... if you had any. Raziel was one of those kids that could never remember any good times. It may not have been because there was none but could have been that it validated the past and all the bad things with it. He really didn't know why he did what he did but it kept the pain away. No injury could be seen on his body but the pain was deeper than anyone could imagine.

The man stood at roughly 6'3" and it didn't take him long to find a bench to rest all 198lbs of his tired flesh upon. Raziel would reach a gloved hand into his trench coat seeming to nearly loose half of his arm to the darkness within it, drawing out a small syringe and a bottle. It wouldn't have taken long to see what he was doing. The syringe would be filled with the liquid from the small bottle and injected into his right arm that had been rendered bare by rolling up the sleeve of the coat. A deep breath would follow and the two items would be quickly removed from sight back into the dark abyss that they were produced. The pain quickly faded afterwards and he would begin to lay on the bench, giving in to the poison flowing sweetly into his own arm and soon through his entire body.

~She walked through the part on her way from school. school was a blessing and a curse, got her away from her parents but forced her to sit through boring classes where teachered droned for an hour. At least she had friends there, friends she'd do anything for. Kou was supposed to stop by her house after she got home so he could take a shower and she'd try and sneak him some gas money from her father's desk drawer where he kept most of his loose change. ~

~While on her way towards her house she glanced at the man sitting on the bench...his eyes were closed, one sleeve still rolled up with a fresh puncture wound...it wasn't hard to deduce two things...either he was higher than a kite or he was dead...she didn't really see him breathing...She had to know at least if he was alive, imagine if all he needed was a trip to the hospital and she left him there to die...She spotted a stick not far away under the shade of a tree, picked it up and started to walk towards him...just poke his hand a little and see if he moves... She reached the stick slowly foreward to brush it against the back of his hand, doing her best to nudge him...dear god...or whatever forces there might be...let him just move...maybe wipe his face...just...be alive..that was all she was looking for.~

Thanks to his gloves the sensation would have been completely ignored the first time around. Yet after the possibility of continued stimulus, Raz would start to slowly open his eyes. He wasn't dead not sleeping. Yet the drug had a great way of making it all just fade away.... even your own alertness and reaction time.

~She slowly walked towards him, tossing the stick away at seeing his eyes move~ you alright? ~She moved from side to side to best see his face~ Sir...you alright? ~He moved...she was sure of that...at least he was still alive, thank god he was still alive.

He'd groan. His speech was a bit slow but that could just be because of the liquid now deep in his veins. His strangely colored eyes would focus on the girl but Raziel's sight was a bit blurry. "How.... h-how can I help you?" He seemed to have forgotten everything from when the needle left his arm and everything else prior.

~She shook her head~ I just wanted to make sure you were ok..you were laying here like you were dead.... ~her hands shoved into tight jean pockets, she was a pretty little thing to say the least

It took a while for the words to fully process within his mind. Yet Raziel would eventually nod. "Uhh...... thanks.... D-didn't mean to scare you. Anything I could....ummm do for you? Y-you know.... to make it up to you?" He'd slowly reach out to assist himself to sit upright.

~She flashed a sweet smile at him and shook her head~ No...just wanted to make sure you were alright... ~She rocked back on her heels then rocked foreward again~

He would sigh and instantly seemed sober. It would happen without warning and Raziel would look the girl in the eyes. His facial expression would seem to change and he'd nod to her. "Oh... Alright then. Thanks anyways and sorry for the inconvenience." He'd roll down his sleeve and adjust he coat. Now seeming a bit depressed and disappointed, Raz would stand and start one his way to finding a place where he didn't disrupt pretty women on their way back from school.

~Her brow would furrow and start to follow him~ Hey...how'd you do that.. ~Her voice was still soft and sweet, she looked so cute and innocent..like she belonged in some prep school uniform....which would only make her that much more attractive..

He'd just look back to her, "How did I do what?" He seemed still a little off but that wasn't because he was currently stoned. It was because he was recently such. Over all he was still trying to get his mind back on track. Even though he is sober, the drug still had some after effects.

~She smirked and shook her head~ you were higher than a kite 2 minutes ago...now you seem fine...how'd you do that.. ~Her smile was warm, and sweet. Something about her made most just want to get close...if not closer...like the tearing off all her clothes kind of closer...~

"No.... I just have problems. Use shots to try and keep me sane. Why do you care so much anyways? I mean nobody else does..." He'd look into her eyes when he wasn't looking the rest of her over.

~Her eyes were soft, innocent and trusting~ Dunno...just something about you...you're...different......and kinda cute.. ~A saucy little smile crossed her lips that definitely shouldn't be there.~

He would laugh with great disbelief in her words. "I'm just John Doe. Just another face in the hell known as existence.... and I'm not cute.... In fact I highly doubt it." His head would lower slightly, wishing he was still wasted and didn't have to think about any of it.

~She smiled a little and walked a step closer~ No..you're someone..you have a name that you're scared to tell me...and you are cute...they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder you know ~She tilted her head to one side, her red hair falling over her shoulder~

"Heh... who knew my Mother's words would haunt me like this.... Thanks for your confidence though. Mind if maybe I walk you home? I know it seems a bit weird but you have been really nice and I really want to pay you back somehow. Plus I really don't trust the streets. If I had a car maybe I would... but until then.... heh no way in hell. So would you mind? I'll tell you my name if you say yes." Raz would grin just realizing he found one of the few nice things to exist in over seven centuries. It was relieving and just sent a small chill up your spine like a song that hits you straight in the heart.

~A smile washed over her face at his concern and she nodded lightly, thumbs hooking in the straps of the backpack~ Sure...you can walk me home ~She turned to start walking although listening for him to fulfill his promise of a name~

He would follow her happily, noting her desire to know his name. It tickled him a bit, knowing someone must know his name. "It's Raziel." He'd smile greatly and start to walk next to her.

~She smiled warmly~ Raziel huh? that's a nice name...not like everyone else..

It wasn't something you saw every day, especially not in the city where such creatures were myths to everything but the suburbs on the outskirts of city limits. Her presence was first announced by the rustling of bushes that lined the path but as dainty black soaked paws were carrying a dainty body of flames and snow free of the underbrush it'd startled passerby's. But what was even more startling...was the collar and tags that hung stark against white chest, add the tennis ball within delicate jaws...would have people questioning whether or not she was related to her wild brethren or a product of designer domesticated breeding. The moment she was free of the clinging limbs she was giving herself a good shake smoothing mussed coat before dainty paws were picking up a ground eating trot along the path. A fox on a mission...to be played with.

Raz would chuckle and shake his head, getting a small glimps of the fox before leaving the park, giving a relaxed smile. Who knew such a creature associated with beautiful myth and legend could make him feel so happy and zen.
