.:Disarm You With A Smile:.

Looking at this fine establishment that is meant to educate todays youth in all things including social order I can't help but feel sick. Why in the world my step-father transplanted us to this lovely white picket fence city is beyond me. Honestly. It isn't that large and this section of town is more like a city from the fifties. I would expect for superman to come and fly circles around our heads at any moment if I didn't know any better. Scuffing the tips of my shoes on the ground I adjust my backpack strap and walk closer to the doors. There were no signs of life here except for the janitor who was currently on the other side of the campus. Quickly opening one of the doors and closing it swiftly I set to work. And not a soul would see me, of course not. It's 4 A.M. Tristen would be proud. If he had survived the plane flight..I swallowed that thought before anything could remind me that he was not here to share in the fun. Or to make me focus on the burning hole that was spreading the darkness from outside in.

With cords laid about between two rooms, Demi used his laptop to run diagnostics on some form of machine in the other room. He couldn't help but enjoy his hobbies with the equipment that government money provided for even if it was too early for God. He'd blindly push his chair back as the new student strolled through the halls. Demi would start his speedy glide from one room to another, not even suspecting that anyone other than security and the janitor could roam the halls, and they knew to stay away from his work space. The child's experiments where just that dangerous and who knew how he survived every one.

Hearing the sound of a chair rolling on the floor Gage looked up from his roaming. Checking the other doorways in the hall he quietly made his way to the noise. Wondering who in Jebbus's name would be here at this time, other than him of course.

Every so often, Demi would jump his chair from class to class. One room with his machine and the other with it's code. He was quick though. It was as if every time someone looked to the noise there would be nothing. Yet every so often you could see the tech slide between rooms. After some period of silence, Demi span back out of the room, sliding right in front of Gage and away, back into the second room.

A black cat walked down the hall and sat at the doorway as the boy slid from room to room watching him with bright yellow eyes, mowing softly as he sped past then eyes lifted to the new boy, a fresh scent...unclaimed either from what she could tell. Another mow, this time at the one standing in the hall instead of the one racing the Nerd 5000 through the halls on a spinny-rolly chair that the feline loved to wrestle from time to time

The clock struck 4:30am and Demi pushed away from the hunk of metal and span, speeding again in the hallway. Yet he caught glimpse of the cat and scooped it up, carrying it as he made rotations as he flew into the first room again to continue typing.

gage blinked as he saw the other boy roll pass. Looking into the room the boy had just vacated he saw computer parts. Ports and Servers littered the room. Blinked and stepping back, narrowly avoiding getting hit by the boy as he rolled past back into the room and picked up a cat. Peaking into the other room he aw...more computers and other technology that was calling to him. Stopping in the door way of the room the boy was in he stood there his low tenor breaking the silence. "Hello?"

It was one of the few occasions that Demi didn't have any headphones in. He immediately perked up and stared through impenetrable goggles at the student and blinked. His face was easily covered by the collar of his coat like it usually was and it hid his distaste for interruption. He let the cat go as he started to rise from his chair walking to the doorway. "What are you doing here? This is not the time nor the place for anyone to be... and what are you gawking at? Haven't you seen a fully functional 1/10,000 scale model of the Death Star before?"

Even the cat facepalmed a little at the comments from the nerdy one, She walked up to the one gawking and weaved between his calves a few times, mowing up at him for attention as if saying "Don't mind Demi..he's a nerd...pet me damnit..i'm a kitty!" then sat down between the two males, purring with eyes squeezed shut

Picking up the cat and scratching behind her ears. "Cute cat, and no I have never seen one. Though I have to admit that is the single coolest thing I have ever seen." Looking into the room and taking in everything he smiled. "Though you are off by .3 degrees on where that port is located. As for what I am doing here. I am scoping out this fine establishment that I am being forced to attend as of tomorrow morning."

The feline wiggled a little and mowed once again, shifting to sit on his shoulder and nuzzle his ear, purring

"So what inspired you to build a replica?" He reached up and patted the cat's head. "It seems like an awesome project."

"Only because it has a laser powerful enough to destroy entire planets." He'd grin behind the coat and start working on minor mistakes pointed out by the new student. "I do things like this for fun mainly. People think its best to stay away if I spout off rocket science and nuclear engineering."

"Why it's so fun! Does the laser actually work? " Gage smirked a little as he noticed the boy trying to fix his mistakes.

"Oh, of course. Just hold on." Demi would close it all up and turn the beast on as it lightly hovered above the table it rested on and the boy would roll his chair back to the computer room to boot everything up. He'd roll back into the room and physically started to turn the sphere towards his first audience as the laser started to charge and make a greenish glow in the center, showing that it would soon be ready.

Gage looked at the model and started clapping. "Other than the time I got arrested for stealing that armoured car this is the single coolest thing I have ever seen done." Looking around to room he was wondering what the boy was going to blow up.

~The feline lept from the boy's arms and started sniffing the sphere and looking to Demi then back to the sphere before sitting on the table and staring at the green light....~

The laser would discharge and make a few disconcerting noises as only some of the blast would speed for Gage and the cat. Demi would be shouting at the construct that would eventually begin to fall apart due to some backfire and could lead to scrapped parts or a bomb 1/24 the size of the Epcot Center.

Gage stepped to the doorframe as the laser booted up. Grinning. "So what is the backfire on this."

~The feline mowed at the ball that now seemed that if she played with it, it may play back in a slightly unfriendly manner then gave it a crinkled expression with narrowed eyes and perked whiskers and ears, shifting her body back a step or two before looking to Demi like it was his damned fault she couldn't contemplate playing with his creation anymore, damned nerds, they always blow up the best toys.

The huge sphere would hit the ground as the lasers finished their path through the air. Demi was starting to stand from hitting the floor so quickly and rushed to the access panel of his "model" and quickly start to work purely out of fear of the potential consequences. This was a disaster in his mind and showed through his finger tips.

Gage saw the fear on the other boys face and hurried over to the panel. "Shimatta.(Shit) Ya know if ya just cut that one line there it'll stop the beam at least. Maybe not the entire explosion... but hey it's something." Concentrating on the inside mechanics of the sphere Gage called to his latent ability and reached out with his mind to try and shut down the circuits running around the inside. Moving a few pieces to turn the blast off and control the explosion. Hoping to make it no more than a small amount of smoke. His eyes turning pure black while he played.

~The feline moved closer, extended a paw and touched the small mechanism that had been floating over the table and tilted her head at Gage, staring into his eyes before emitting a mow and changing her stares to Demi...wondering if the one she knew less of would try to stop her or bat her paw away.~

Demi would let out a bark at Gage, "I know what I'm doing I made the damned thing. If I can just concentrate and not worry about everything else I can fix it!" Demi started working on the make shift explosive as many swear words would be belted out due to electrocution and small burns. Eventually Demi would groan a mutter to himself, "Fuck this..." His arm would reach all the way into the center and grasp at some object in the core of the beast and rip it from it's chamber. The crisis was over and the boy had no fear of destroying the best thing to exist in his life. A sigh left his lips and he would stand holding a small jar with a glowing blue core. Wires hanging off of it would spark at random intervals but were no threat to anyone. Demi grumbled once more and peered inside the ball of scraps, "This thing wasn't the problem... It must be something else inside. Maybe one of the connections severed and welded itself to another part, overloading the system."

~Feline intrest changed to the sparking wires, batting at one briefly then mowing to the boy, her voice sounding in Demi's head alone ~Aww.....it was fun to play with.........i bet you can fix it though...genius ~Her eyes stared intently at him almost a feline smile on her face.~
